Education, Health & Well-Being Before Everything

Yaga Retreat is based in Battersea but provides private tutors to families all across London.

Our tutors are highly experienced private tutors who come to us with excellent reviews and track records. Our tutors are required to be familiar with the relevant exam board’s latest syllabus, so our students attain the best possible results in an increasingly competitive academic environment.

Tuition We Offer

It’s incredible how many people say they’d like to get fitter and live a healthier lifestyle, but aren’t quite sure where to start. That’s where we come in. Yaga Retreat offers a fitness structure and the positive reinforcement you need, so that you can concentrate on getting your body and mind into the state you desire. See the classes we offer below, and get in touch with us if you have any questions.

Monday 4:30pm

Yaga Retreat is based in Battersea and serves clients in Clapham, Wimbledon, Kingston, Kensington, Chelsea, Knightsbridge, Fulham, and across greater London.

One of our main specialities is in private maths tutoring services. We provide fully qualified and professional maths tutors for 7+, 11+ and 13+ entrance exams, KS3, GCSE and A-levels.

We make sure that any provided maths tutor is experienced in teaching the current curriculum, able to convey maths at a level which the student will understand, and inherently passionate about the subject.

Self Nurture Education

Tuesday 4:30pm

Self-nurturing is taking care of yourself. Many people put themselves at the bottom of their own list of priorities, resulting in burnout, exhaustion and resentment. Our Self-Nurture Education introduces techniques and tools designed to restore balance in your life and improve overall mental and emotional wellbeing.

In the current series, we discover the New Economics Foundation’s Five Ways to Wellbeing through the medium of writing: Connect, Take Notice, Be Active, Keep Learning and Give. Using writing as our tool, each session visits one of these concepts to explore what it means to us in the pandemic. There is no need to have any experience in writing and sessions can be taken stand-alone or as a package.

Education Coach Alessandra has been working in creative education for over ten years. Since 2018, she has run NHS-commissioned wellbeing workshops as a tutor at Bristol Wellbeing College and freelance sensory-based workshops in dementia care-homes.

Wednesday 4:30pm

Yaga Retreat provides English tutors across London to students of all ages and abilities. The study of the English Language is crucial to the development of a wide range of skills that will benefit students throughout their lives whether it be in terms of their employability, their ability to connect to others, or their further studies.

Studying English Language involves understanding the rules of grammar, punctuation and the structure of writing. Additionally, students will be encouraged to understand how to write according to different genres, how to target audiences, how writing can be persuasive, powerful, informative and creative. Our English tutors at Yaga Retreat specialise in encouraging a deeper enjoyment of this subject and looking beyond the ‘rules’ to discover the joy of utilising all that the English Language has to offer.

Art Education

Thursday 4:30pm

Education Coach Gala is a London based multidisciplinary artist. In response to lockdown restrictions she is hosting online sessions of art, where you will engage with matter and explore the qualities of paint, as you learn to react to what you see. Using colour as a catalyst and the movement of your body you will transpose your environment into a creative act whilst finding your authentic inner voice.

You will need a set of paints either watercolour or acrylic, paper or a canvas, and some drawing materials to use to transpose a composition from your environment.
